Parents and Staff,

Chireno ISD has been notified that five secondary students in the district have tested positive for Covid-19 and two staff members. These students were off campus currently undergoing quarantine. The students will continue to quarantine at home for the duration recommended by the CDC. We have contacted those that were in close contact in the past two days and they will quarantine for 14 days or they receive a negative test result. We have had multiple students and staff members in quarantine get tested and received negative results and have been allowed to return to campus following all required protocols.

All Chireno employees and students are instructed to continue to follow CDC and TEA guidelines and recommendations and to practice social distancing.

Out of an abundance of caution, we advise you to monitor your health and contact your primary care physician if you develop symptoms.

Chireno ISD is continuing to monitor this situation and will provide additional information as needed.

Sincerely,

Michael Skinner, Superintendent of Schools
