From the Chireno Owls Sports Wire: Fresh off a great start to the 2021 season, our boys' and girls' teams will compete in the Broaddus Junior High Basketball Tournament, which kicks off this evening and will run through Saturday. Both squads will face Douglass this afternoon with the girls tipping off at 4:00; the boys are scheduled to get underway at 5:15. Our Lady Owls will be back in action tomorrow afternoon with a 4:00 tilt against Big Sandy; our boys will play at 5:15, also against Big Sandy. On Saturday, both teams will square off against Broaddus; the girls play at 12:30 pm, the boys at 1:45 pm. It's a big weekend for our junior high teams!

8/25/2021 Parents and Staff, Chireno ISD was informed one of our secondary students tested positive for COVID-19. TEA and CDC guidance does not require those who have been in contact to quarantine. All Chireno employees and students are instructed to continue to follow CDC and TEA guidelines and recommendations and to practice social distancing. Out of an abundance of caution, we advise you to monitor your health and contact your primary care physician if you develop symptoms. It's an exciting Monday here at Chireno ISD! We invite all incoming 7th grade students and their parents to meet with Mr. Gregory and junior high teachers this afternoon for an orientation from 4:30-5:30. Our annual Meet the Teacher Night will begin at 5:30 this evening and end at 7:00. In the high school foyer, secondary students can pick up class schedules from Mrs. Pinner while junior high and high school athletes can pick up a copy of the 2021-2022 Extra Curricular Handbook from Coach Zienko. We hope you will make plans to come and visit with our teachers, staff, and administrators as we bring in a new school year.

Senior Meeting! Attention seniors and parents/guardians of seniors. We will be having a Senior Class Meeting this Tuesday the 17th from 6pm to 7pm in the media center. Can't wait to see you!
