The American Rescue Plan Act, also known as the ARP Act was signed into law in March 2021. The ARP Act allocated money to the Elementary and Secondary School Education Relief III (ESSER III) Fund. This funding is intended to be used to respond to the pandemic and to address learning loss as a result of COVID-19. Chireno ISD will apply for funding to receive our allocation of the ESSER III funds. From the desk of CISD Food Services Manager regarding the end of year charge deadline: Dear Parent or Guardian, The school year is quickly coming to an end, and in an effort to reduce the amount of charges owed in May, students will not be allowed to charge after Friday, May 14th. Please ensure that your child has enough money in their cafeteria account to get them through the rest of the school year. You may easily check and pay balances on our website by going to https://www.lunchmoneynow.com/lmnchr/splash.php. You will need their student ID number which you can call the cafeteria and ask for at any time. Students that forget to bring their lunch money will be given a peanut butter sandwich and milk. If the teacher allows, students may call a parent for money. All charges that were made before applications for the Lunch program were approved must be paid. If you have any questions, please call the cafeteria manager. Amber Evans 936-362-2132, ext. 114
