From the Chireno Owls Sports Wire: Our home games with High Island scheduled for Friday evening will begin at 4:30 pm. Our Lady Owls will play first followed by the boys' game. All fans must be temperature screened upon entry into the gym and must wear a mask at all times. Please note these games will be live streamed on the Chireno ISD facebook page. Saturday, Dec. 19: Our Lady Owls will play Leggett on the road at noon. Leggett ISD has allotted 60 tickets for Chireno fans. All spectators in attendance must wear a mask.

She has been a dedicated UIL sponsor and coach for Chireno ISD for many years and we are so excited that her efforts have been recognized by the league. Those games were originally scheduled for a 2:00 pm tip off beginning with the JV game. That game has now been moved back an hour to 3:00 pm with the varsity game to be played immediately afterward.

Varsity teams will begin play at approximately 6:00. Per Chireno ISD protocol, all fans planning to attend must be temperature screened before entering the gym, must wear masks at all times, and are highly encouraged to social distance in the bleachers as much as possible. Immediately afterward, the visitor side will be cleared to allow for San Augustine fans to enter the gym in preparation for the boys' JV game to begin at approximately 6:30. The varsity boys' game will follow. As a COVID-19 mitigating precaution, all attendees for tonight's contests must be temperature screened before entering the gym and masks will be required to be worn properly at all times. From the Chireno Owls Sports Wire: High School Basketball information for the upcoming week: Tonight: JV & Varsity girls will begin the season on the road in Teneha. Tip off is set for 5:00pm. Saturday, Nov. 7: HS Boys basketball (JV & Varsity) will scrimmage in Cushing beginning at 2:00. Tuesday, Nov. 10: HS Girls basketball will be in action at home vs. Woden. This will include JV & Varsity beginning at 5:00pm. Four tickets per player will be accepted and the price of admission to those games will be taken at the gate. Home game reminder: all fans entering our gym will be required to have their temperature screened before entering the facility and must wear a mask at all times. Also, on this day, our boys JV & Varsity basketball teams will be scrimmaging in Laneville beginning at 6:00pm. Friday, Nov. 13: Varsity girls will be at home against Martinsville beginning at 5:00pm. Immediately following, the visitor side of the gym will be cleared to allow for San Augustine fans to enter to watch the boys' games. The JV boys game against San Augustine will tip off around 6:30pm with the varsity immediately following. Again, all home game protocols must be followed per Chireno and CDC guidelines.
