From the Chireno Owls Sports Wire: Congratulations to our Lady Owls softball team on a great season. Our ladies bowed out of the playoffs this afternoon to Evadale at Jasper High School. We look forward to next year as our returning players will have another year of experience playing at a high level. Thank you to our outgoing seniors for their commitment and contribution to make Chireno's softball the fine program it has become.

From the Chireno Owls Sports Wire: Coach Bleile and our baseball team have done a great job of getting our field ready for tonight's Senior night game. We hope you can make plans to come and support our Mighty Owls as they take on West Sabine at home this evening. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 pm. A win will place our Owls in a tie for first place with West Sabine in District 24-2A. Good luck to our players and coaches!

From the Chireno Owls Sports Wire: Our baseball team is scheduled to play their final home and regular season game Thursday evening at 6:00 pm against West Sabine. This is also Senior Night for our young men playing their final game on the home diamond. This game was originally scheduled for Friday, but was moved up to avoid conflicts with the Regional track meet. Should this game need to be postponed due to wet field conditions, we will announce a rescheduled time as soon as one is agreed upon with West Sabine. Good luck to our Lady Owls softball team as they will play a best of three series with Evadale beginning Friday afternoon at 4:00 pm. Game 2 will be played at 11:00 am on Saturday, and Game 3 (if necessary) will be played at 1:00 pm. These games will be played at Jasper High School's softball field. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.

This is a reminder for those students, current 10th and 11th graders, interested in Dual Credit for the 2023-2024 school year of our meeting in the cafeteria tonight at 5:30 pm. Following the Dual Credit meeting, we will have a current Junior parent meeting at 6:00 pm. We will inform parents of senior year norms and expectations regarding scholarships and graduation.

This is a reminder that tonight is our current 7th & 8th grade parent meeting in the cafeteria beginning at 5:30 pm. We will discuss student class schedules for next year and course opportunities available for next year as well. Mrs. Pinner will conduct the meeting while our CTE teachers will also be on hand to answer any questions and provide additional information.

From the Chireno Owls Sports Wire: Good luck to our softball and baseball teams as both programs will be in action this evening! The Mighty Owls will be traveling to West Sabine to take on the Tigers. Only the varsity will play tonight with the first pitch scheduled for 6:00 pm. Meanwhile, our Lady Owls will play their final home game of the season in a Senior Night match up against West Sabine. This game will get underway at 5:00 pm. On Friday evening, our ladies will travel to Chester for a 4:30 pm contest while our baseball team will be idle. The game originally scheduled with Zavalla on this day has been cancelled. Our JV boys however, will be in action at home Saturday, April 15, against Douglass in a scheduled doubleheader. The first game is set to get underway at 11:00 am with the second game immediately to follow.

From the Chireno Owls Sports Wire: Happy Rainy Thursday! As you can probably imagine, there will be no ball games today. The baseball game will be rescheduled to a later date to be determined. When that date and time are agreed upon, CISD will make that public. The softball game will now be played on Monday in Woden at noon.

From the Chireno Owls Sports Wire: It's Tuesday, which means it's game day! Good luck to our softball and baseball teams as both programs will be in action at home this evening. Our Lady Owls will host Colmesneil beginning at 5:00 pm. Our JV and Varsity baseball teams will also play Colmesneil with the first game getting underway at 4:00 pm. The varsity will take the field after the JV game with an approximate start time of 6:30 pm. Finally, good luck to our high school track athletes competing in the finals of the District 24-2A track meet in San Augustine at 11:00 am. So far, we have 3 athletes advancing to Area in the high jump and 3200m run.

From the Chireno Owls Sports Wire: It's game day Friday! Today's home softball game has been moved up and is now scheduled to get underway at 4:00 pm. The baseball game tomorrow is still scheduled to begin at 11:00 am. This game was originally scheduled for today but was moved to Saturday due to a scheduling conflict with game officials.

From the Chireno Owls Sports Wire: Congratulations to the Chireno High School One-Act Play cast and crew for advancing past the bi-district round of competition yesterday at Panola College! Directed by Mrs. Alicia Mathews, their production of "Steel Magnolias" will now compete at the Area round of competition at Union Grove High School on April 1. While our Lady Owls softball team will have a bye this Friday, our Mighty Owls baseball squad will travel to Chester on Thursday for a 4:00 pm district matchup. Also, our varsity boys and girls track teams will be in action at Cushing on Thursday. Events are scheduled to get underway at 3:15 pm.

From the Chireno Owls Sports Wire: It is game day! We hope you can make plans to come and support our softball and baseball teams this evening. Our Lady Owls will host the Brookeland Lady Cats beginning at 5:00 pm. An hour later, our Mighty Owls will take on the Brookeland Wildcats on the home diamond. The concession stand will be up and running so it should be a great time at the ball fields. Also, congratulations to Barrett Bennefield and Cason Mancill for placing 2nd in the SETX Bass Tournament this past weekend. These young men represented our school extremely well, defeating all but one team out of nearly 500 total entries. Way to go, guys!

From the Chireno Owls Sports Wire: Our high school track team will not compete in the San Augustine Track Meet tomorrow. This meet was originally scheduled to take place on Thursday but was moved up a day. Our Junior High track teams will compete next on Monday, March 20, in Cushing beginning at 3:15 pm. Our high school track teams will compete in Cushing on Thursday, March 23. That meet is also scheduled to begin at 3:15 pm.

From the Chireno Owls Sports Wire: Although the weather is a little chili for spring time, it's never too cold for Chireno baseball! All eyes will be on the baseball field this afternoon, so we hope you can make plans to join us on campus this evening as our JV baseball team will host the Rusk Eagles Freshmen squad at 4:00 pm. After that game, our varsity Owls will take the field at 6:30 pm to play the Leggett Pirates. Our Lady Owls softball team is not scheduled to play this afternoon.

From the Chireno Owls Sports Wire: We have updates for tonight's games. The 4:30 home JV baseball game against Burkeville has been postponed to a later date. The Lady Owls softball game that has been moved to West Sabine this evening will now begin at 6:00 pm.
