The softball game has been rescheduled for this Saturday, April 12, at 1:00. This will be a home game for the Lady Owls. Here at press time, no rescheduled date has been set for the baseball game. When it becomes available, CISD will publish that information.

Our Lady Owls will host Woden beginning at 5:00pm while our JV and varsity baseball squads will take the field at 4:00 and 6:30 against San Augustine. Also, mark your calendars for this Saturday evening as our One-Act Play cast and crew will be hosting a public performance of "The Cover of Life" in the cafeteria. Admission is $5. These students will be performing next weekend at Union Grove High School in the Area Round of OAP competition with the opportunity to advance to Regionals.

Also, congratulations to Barrett Bennefield and Cason Mancill as they have both been named Angler of the Year for 2024 while representing Chireno High School in the Bayou City Division of the Texas High School Association. Both young men will be featured in today's podcast managed by the THSBA so you can catch it online. Bennefield and Mancill will now advance to the Regional Bass Tournament to be held at Lake Limestone on April 13, with the opportunity to advance to state.

Led by OAP director Mrs. Alicia Mathews, Chireno High School's version of "The Cover of Life" garnered the following student awards: Honor Crew - Colton Ruppert; Honorable Mention Cast - Trinity Crocker; All-Star Cast - Tatum Smith and Alayna Patterson; and Top Female Performer - Shelby Canterberry. The Area Round will be held at Union Grove High School on Saturday, April 13.
From the Chireno Owls Sports Wire: Due to overnight rains, we have some schedule changes for softball and baseball games tonight and tomorrow. First, there will be no JV baseball games played tomorrow in Chester due to a scheduling conflict within their athletic calendar. Tonight's baseball game against Chester has been moved to Nacogdoches High School and there will be no cost for admission. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 pm. The home softball game scheduled for this evening against Chester will not be played. Instead, this game is tentatively set to be played in Zavalla on Tuesday, March 26, beginning at 4:00 pm. Immediately following that game, our Lady Owls will then play Zavalla. That game is set for 6:00 pm.

The high school district track meet will be on held on April 1 (field events and running prelims) and April 3 (running finals).
